Today is the three year anniversary of starting my blog!!! I know that seems trivial, but my blog is the reason I have a business today. It was one of the darkest times in my life, I was facing the deepest depression ever, and went off work on disability. I suffered from extreme migraines, and could barely get out of bed. If it wasn’t for my kids, I probably wouldn’t have. The doctors prescribed me every medicine possible for my headaches, but I refused to take any of it. I knew that my body was just reacting to my depression, and I decided that with God and my will to live a life filled with light and love I would take matters I to my own hands.
And so I did….
I was very inspired by my cousins @candacenicoleee music blog and decided to create one of my own. I dedicated it two the only two things (besides my kids) that made me happy: poetry and cooking. I had no idea what I was doing when I started my blog, all I knew is that I had something in me that wanted to get out, and so I let it. I remember my friend and neighbor Brittany would come over and help me style my food for photos (remember that time we made root beer floats Brit @itsme_bri3 #goodtimes). Each day I would write and cook and post. I had no followers, I still don’t lol. It never really mattered to me who was listening, I just needed to express myself.
And so I did….
Three years later my blog turned from an emotional outlet, to a legitimate catering and personal chef business. I had no idea this is where my blog was leading me. I was just following my heart. Even though no one really follows me on tumblr, my blog is a reminder to me of how far I’ve come (seriously, you should see some of the photos that I started with). It shows me that through the pain there is light. Through the struggle there is victory. But most of all, everything you need is already within you. I am not classically trained, and I have so much to learn and grow, but I am not afraid!! I know the possibilities are limitless and I am so excited for what is to come. It is my prayer that my life light can shine love and inspiration into others.

This vegetarian Bolognese was a labor of love. It has 5 different mushrooms (shitake, porcini, cremini, to name a few) spinach, garlic, wine, and tons of other yummy deliciousness. Served over rigatoni with shaved parm and fresh chopped parsley. #hearty #delicious #vegetarian #tirzahcatering
Fall is officially here, and what better way to celebrate than indulging in some of our favorites. Tonight I prepared turkey meatloaf stuffed with corn bread dressing and mackintosh apples. Topped with cinnamon sweet whipped yams, on top of an arugula and plum salad. Nothing says autumn like apples, corn bread, turkey, and yams!!! 🍂🍁🍂🍃🍂🍁🍂 #hellofall #RRKitchenLoveSweepstakes #rrwhatchacookin #foodie #chef #tirzahcatering #delicious #meatloaf #yummy
